At the general meeting of the Bund Naturschutz it was emphasized again: The state government should finally give up the third track.

Freising

– The new board elections of the BN in the Gasthof Lerner took place quickly and without much discussion – because the new board is almost the same as the old one.

Only Ines Schlät passed the cash register into new hands for family reasons.

Namely in that of the publishing house employee Sigrid Klemt.

A change

Among the assessors there was a change from Hans Schwaiger, who moved away from Freising, to Heinz Kotzlowski.

Wolfgang Willner remains district chairman, his deputies are Christine Margraf and Karl-Heinz Häberle.

Christian Magerl remains secretary, delegates Carolin Plötz and Inge Steidl.

Lorenz scratches, Karl-Otto Wagner, Georg Brunner and Angelika Ripperger complete the board.

"Third lane has to go"

"We would like to get rid of one topic," Christian Magerl wishes in his contribution: "The third track must go!" Instead, the opposite is promoted at the expense of the citizens, the environment and the climate.

For example, the Ministry of Transport has diverted 124 million euros in funds for rail into air traffic and roads.

"Giant Projects"

BN Managing Director Manfred Drobny reports: "And it should continue with gigantic projects: a completely new long-distance railway line from Ingolstadt to the airport, the Munich Congress Center with eleven hectares of built-up area, further traffic growth and the contradiction to climate protection".

Magerl: "And that with drastically increasing CO2 values and a climate protection judgment by the Federal Constitutional Court.

Instead, “FMG and the Bavarian state government should finally give up the third runway and use moorland to protect the climate there,” Magerl puts it in a nutshell.

Get moss wet again

The BN also wants to operate climate protection in the Freisinger Moos.

He supports efforts to get the peat in the moss wet again and thus store CO2.

In order to strengthen the typical animals and plants of the moss, "we submitted an application for funding to the nature conservation fund, which should now be on the way," reports Christine Margraf.

The Achievements

But there were also successes in the BN's work: According to Manfred Drobny, the designation of the state-owned Isarauwald between Munich and Moosburg as a natural forest is "thanks to the investigation by the Bund Naturschutz (Bund Naturschutz) on the renaturation of the Isar and the efforts of the BN in the biodiversity referendum".

Drobny continues: "A new urban ecology working group has also been set up, which wants to make nature and the urban climate fitter."

Despite the corona losses, the outgoing treasurer Ines Schlät was able to hand over a plus of 4500 euros - with total income of 49,269 euros and expenses of 44,768 euros.
