Anita Stocker from Landsham, new district chairwoman of the hotel and restaurant association, wants to bring hosts more together.

And she wants to polish up the image of gastronomy.

Landsham – Anita Stocker likes to do both: lend a hand and talk.

She is the landlady and hotel manager of her own inn and boarding house, which she runs with her husband Melchior in Landsham – she likes to talk to guests and her employees.

"Hegen and nurturing" is her motto.

Applies to guests, even more so for the employees.

Asking how they are doing, whether they need anything - staying in touch with their own people is important for the company and for the working atmosphere, says the 46-year-old.

Talking brings people together, through talking you learn new and interesting things - "personal conversations are important," says Anita Stocker.

Talk to each other, learn from each other

The landlady from Landsham (Pliening municipality) is the new chairwoman of the Ebersberg district association of the German Hotel and Restaurant Association (DEHOGA) and wants to do exactly that: talk and bring people together.

In this case, those who run a restaurant or work there.

Almost 90 companies are members of the DEHOGA district association, Anita Stocker has set herself the goal of networking them better with one another.

In order to learn from each other, for example in terms of marketing and social media presence.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Ebersberg newsletter.)

In terms of politics, she is committed to making working hours in the catering industry more flexible.

And with a view to autumn, she hopes that the catering industry will be faced with fewer and no longer as ad hoc major challenges and additional tasks (particularly bureaucratic) as in the past due to possible corona restrictions and specifications.

It doesn't work without gastro.

"Polishing up the image of gastronomy," says Anita Stocker as her motivation.

“It doesn’t work without gastro.” The fact that these are difficult times hasn’t just been the case since Corona.

Most people are not willing to spend more money for good quality in a tavern or restaurant than, for example, for a schnitzel from the discounter.

Due to the current political situation and the constantly increasing costs, she also understands that people have to pay more attention to money.

Nevertheless: "Gastronomy, the tavern, that's part of Bavaria." And is important, not only to quench hunger and thirst - but to feel comfortable in a different environment, to meet other people, maybe get to know new ones and: to talk to each other .
