Just three days after the highly publicized search of Donald Trump's home in Florida, the reasons for this visit are slowly becoming clear.
According to the
Washington Post
, citing anonymous sources but "
close to the investigation
", the FBI agents were in particular looking for classified documents relating to nuclear weapons.
Until then, the doubt leaned more in favor of a search linked to the involvement of the former president in the assault on the capitol in January 2020. But the article in the American daily explains that this "
unusual search
" is especially linked to “
the deep concern of government officials
” at the possibility that this nuclear information “
falls into the wrong hands
”.
Documents relating to nuclear weapons are particularly sensitive and should only be accessible to a limited number of members of the government in office.

Uncertainty still hangs over the precise purpose of these documents: the sources interviewed by the
Washington Post
“
did not specify whether they were weapons belonging to the United States or to another nation
”.
Above all, they "
did not specify whether such documents had been recovered as part of the search
", supports the article.
Donald Trump's spokesperson like the Department of Justice or the FBI "
refused to comment
".
But the public could quickly know the official reasons for this search: Merrick Garland, the Minister of Justice, announced Thursday that he had asked a Florida judge to make public the warrant which authorized the FBI to search the residence of the former President.
During a short televised intervention, the minister indeed confirmed that he had "
personally approved the decision to request a search warrant
", before explaining that, according to him, this case was of "
important public interest
" which required detailing the reasons for such a raid.
A way also to respond to the criticisms made by Donald Trump, according to which this visit by FBI agents is political and unjustified.
