TDC and Japan's Aomori Prefecture signed a memorandum of cooperation: Fang Shunwen: Hope to drive economic growth in the two places

The five-day Food Expo 2022 kicked off yesterday (11th), attracting more than a thousand exhibitors from all over the world.

The HKTDC signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Aomori Prefecture Government of Japan today (12th) to develop an economic and trade partnership with Hong Kong through participation in the Food Expo, and to promote the beautiful food of Aomori Prefecture to more Hong Kong people.

The epidemic has restricted Hong Kong people from traveling abroad, and Hong Kong people can only purchase local products from Japan by means of logistics.

Aomori Prefecture has cooperated with Yamato Transportation Company to deliver Aomori Prefecture's special products, including fruits and seafood, freshly every day through frozen logistics.

Hong Kong is actively strengthening its relationship with major trading partners. The Quality Development Bureau also signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Japanese government of Aomori Prefecture today.

Fong Shunwen, President of the HKTDC, expressed the hope that through a series of economic and trade plans, the two sides will promote economic and trade exchanges and drive the economic growth of the two places.

Aomori Prefecture Governor Shingo Mimura pointed out that Hong Kong is the main export market for Aomori apples, and he hopes to promote food and culture to Hong Kong people who love Japan by strengthening economic and trade relations.

He introduced the specialties of Aomori Prefecture, including apples, scallops and Chinese yam, as well as some famous attractions such as the cherry blossom viewing hotspot Hirosaki Park and the Shirakami Mountains, a World Heritage Site.

He also showed off a special suit from Aomori Prefecture's famous festival "Nebuta Matsuri".
