The FBI sought to locate classified nuclear weapons-related documents, among other items, when agents raided former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago compound in Palm Beach, Florida this week, people familiar with the matter told The Washington Post. with the investigation.
The people did not provide additional details to the Post about what agents were looking for or if any documents were recovered.
US Attorney General Merrick Garland said Thursday that he "personally approved" the decision to seek a warrant to search Trump's home in Florida.

“The department does not make that decision lightly.
Whenever possible, it is standard practice to seek less intrusive means as an alternative to a search and to limit the scope of any search that is carried out,” Garland said at a news conference.
