At about 10 am today (12th), a 6-car tandem accident occurred on the Tuen Mun Highway bound for Kowloon near Sham Tseng. The cars behind were suspected of not being able to catch up with the car in front, and the car in front was pushed forward, causing a series of collisions.

In the accident, a driver reported chest pains, and a passenger reported a neck sprain, and both were sent to hospital for treatment.

The Transport Department announced at 8:22 a.m. that the express line at Tuen Mun Highway (bound for Kowloon) near Sham Tseng Interchange, which had been closed earlier due to a traffic accident, has now been released, and the traffic queue has yet to dissipate.

Yesterday (11th) at 7:28 a.m. during rush hour at work, Tuen Mun Highway exiting Kowloon near the expressway off Sham Tsing also had a 9-vehicle skewering accident and 3 people were injured.
