The BRK is waiting for blood donors for the first time in the primary school in Holzkirchen on Tuesday.

From autumn, the campaign will then take place in the middle school alternative quarters.

Holzkirchen

– A lot of blood flows in Holzkirchen almost traditionally – and that makes the blood donation service of the Bavarian Red Cross happy.

Loyal donors regularly come to the appointments, recently the blood donation challenge of the boys' clubs and fire brigades increased the result.

Even the summer vacation date on Tuesday, August 16, Markus Probst, BRK volunteer leader in Holzkirchen and local blood donation coordinator, does not just let go.

However, the usual space is not available: Because the middle school building is already being prepared for demolition, the blood donation service is moving to the neighboring elementary school once.

Donors are welcome there between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. and are asked to use the entrance via Säggasse.

Blood preparations can only be kept for 42 days

"It is important that the supply of blood products remains stable even during the holiday season in Bavaria," says Probst.

Since a number of loyal donors are on vacation, Probst is hoping for many new donors to step into the breach on Tuesday.

"Blood preparations can only be kept for 42 days," explains Probst.

It is therefore important that there is a constant supply of supplies for urgent operations or accidents.

"Of course it would be nice if donors came back to donate before the well-deserved start of their journey." Anyone who wants to can reserve a fixed slot for Tuesday in Holzkirchen on the Internet (www.blutspende dienst.com).

"But it's also possible to just drop by," says Probst.

From autumn blood donations in the container alternative quarters

Since the middle school is now canceled as a blood donation location in the long term, the BRK had to look for a new location.

Mayor Christoph Schmid made it possible to use the primary school once despite the holiday season, says Probst.

And the community continues to help: From September, the BRK can use the premises in the temporary container quarters of the middle school on Baumgartenstrasse.

There is a first opportunity to have blood drawn there on Friday, September 23 (3 p.m. to 8 p.m.).

Up to ten volunteers from the BRK-Wilhelm Holzkirchen support the blood donation service at the appointments in the market town.
