The Acrylic Photography Forum (Color Spaces), hosted by the National Museum in Lattakia, brought together the artistic experiences of about 19 artistically talented young women from different academic and professional levels to give them the opportunity to present their works to the public in an initiative to discover promising plastic talents.

The participants in the forum, which is held by the Picasso Center for Fine Arts under the supervision of the Directorate of Culture of Latakia and in cooperation with the Directorate of Antiquities and Museums, presented 38 works of art that were distinguished by diversity in terms of themes and art schools, which were dominated by the human theme and formed the woman with her multiple symbolism (mother, homeland and beauty) the greater present.

The forum, which was launched on the 27th of last month and will conclude tomorrow, Sunday, through an art exhibition of the works of the participating artists, aims, according to the plastic artist, Ismail Totunji, the supervisor of the forum, to attract the largest possible number of talented and obscure young people and to bring their works to the public to contribute to discovering artistic talents that were not available to them. Academic study and refinement to be an important addition in enriching the fine movement in the governorate.

In a statement to SANA's reporter, Totunji indicated that the forum attracted artists who were united by innate talent, and tried to bring out what they had inside them of talent and help them translate their ideas artistically on the painting, so that the works came as a surprise in terms of the high artistic level and highlights important real talents that deserve to be highlighted.

Totunji said that the experiences that the forum produced make us happy to achieve its most important goals in discovering talents and motivate us to work so that the forums will continue to create a new artistic generation because art as we see it is a message passed on by generations.

The student at the Kindergarten College, Nour Al-Huda Ghadeer, considered through her first participation in such forums that it constituted an important step for her by meeting people with similar interests, learning about their experiences and benefiting from the professors’ observations and expertise.

Aida Ismail believed that the forum allows those who have talent and passion to come up with their talent and refine it, while benefiting from the great experience of the artist Totunji in this field, especially in the field of acrylic.

Atlal Shamlat pointed out that the forum provided her with an opportunity to bring her artistic passion to the light after many years of raising her children away from him and after they became universities, the decision was to return to art, as she graduated from the Center for Fine Arts and became persistent in participating in forums because of what it gives her of experience and development of skills. Which was shared by the teacher Nisreen Othman, who saw in the forum a free artistic space that enables unknown artists to introduce their work and talents.

Architect Fatima Hassoun spoke about her first participation in an artistic forum through two works that monitor depression, considering that there are real talents that need support in light of the difficult economic conditions we live in to be able to take an important role on the fine scene and show the true artistic and civilized face of our country.
