Snow paradise: the Sudelfeld ski area is very popular in winter.
Now there is hope that two drag lifts that were recently idle could go back into operation.

The foreclosure auction of two areas at Sudelfeld, including two T-bar lifts, has been completed.
The interest was great - and the result surprised.
Bayrischzell/Wolfratshausen
– Bergbahnen Sudelfeld stayed in the race until the end.
But at 2.25 million euros, Managing Director Egid Stadler raised his hand for the last time.
"That was a bit more than we actually planned," explains Stadler after the forced auction of an alpine area with two drag lifts in the middle of the ski area.
In the end, a private bidder was awarded the contract – at 2.3 million euros.
As reported, the two transport facilities - the Plattenlift and the Mittlere Sudelfeldlift - were no longer in operation in recent winters.
The community of heirs apparently could not agree on an extension of the contract with the Sudelfeld mountain railways.
Now the two associated areas with a total size of around 22,800 hectares, including an agricultural pasture with living quarters and stables as well as a machine barn and a spruce forest that can be used for forestry purposes, have come under the hammer at a “compulsory auction for the purpose of dissolving the community” in the Wolfratshausen district court .
Great interest in foreclosure of ski lifts at Sudelfeld
The interest in the public event was great, says Stadler.
“The hall was full.” Five to six people actually bid.
The head of Bergbahnen Sudelfeld is not surprised that the market value of a total of 5.738 million euros previously reported by the court was not even half achieved.
"For me, the estimate was beyond good and evil." As reported, for example, the ski lifts built in the early 1960s have already had one or two winters behind them.

Stadler very much hopes that they will soon be pulling skiers up the snow-covered slopes again.
Although he has not yet known the winning bidder, he is confident that they will soon meet to discuss the future of the lifts.
First of all, of course, he congratulated him on winning the contract, emphasizes Stadler.
Mayor hopes for good talks with new owner
Bayrischzell's Mayor Georg Kittenrainer, who was also present at the foreclosure auction, shares the Bergbahnen Managing Director's confidence.
"I'm assuming that a basis for discussion can develop from this," says Kittenrainer.
The aim must be to find a good, joint overall solution for the future of the Sudelfeld ski area.
