Guarantee of artistic diversity: Kunstverein celebrates its 40th birthday

Erding – The Erding art association has existed for 40 years.
Ten years earlier, artists had come together under the name Bunter Kreis around the later chairman Rudolf L. Reiter.
It then became the Kunstverein.
The artists' association celebrated this double anniversary in the farmhouse museum.
In his review, Michael Lang showed how successfully the KVE was and is still being involved in cultural life in the city and the surrounding area.
The members regularly present themselves at well-attended art exhibitions.
The first exhibition locations of the colorful circle were the parish hall of St. John, the high school in Erding, the health park and the gym at Lodererplatz.
Later - under the name Kunstverein - the topic of art was brought closer to a broad public at numerous events in the district office and then mainly in the Frauenkircherl.
There were also hands-on activities such as the city's holiday program, the flower parade or the Sinnflut festival.
In addition, high-quality art catalogs were published.
Highlights of club life
According to Lang, the highlights of club life were the guest exhibition by Robin "Bluebeard" Page, professor at the Munich Academy, in 1997, the award of the district's culture prize in 2005, the exhibition "Das Runde muss ins Eckige" (The Round Must Go Into the Square) in 2006 with sculptural works submitted nationwide, and the Sculpture Path in 2018 in the city park and the annual exhibition "Predominantly Black" and in 2019 the annual exhibition "Europe" with high national participation.
"This shows us where we need to go with our association in the future: External exhibitors do not take away the exhibition space from our members, but this is the only way we can ensure that our region is also perceived outside of the field of contemporary fine arts," emphasized Lang.
The well-wishers included Social Affairs Minister Ulrike Scharf, Deputy District Administrator Franz Hofstetter, Mayor Max Gotz and City Councilors Thomas Bauer and Gerhard Ippisch.
Markus Renhart (clarinet) and Michaela Bauer (accordion) provided musical enjoyment.
The duo spoiled the audience from classical to jazz with their unmistakable style.
The audience enjoyed the applause of an encore.
Annual exhibition from August 16th to 28th
The art association, with around 160 members, has its domicile in the meeting place on the Rätschenbach in Erding, for which Peter Breth was particularly committed.
Frank Halatsch heads the association and is supported by his deputies Sabine Fischer (Langengeisling), Jürgen Naglik (Erding) and secretary Eva Bauer-Enghofer (Steinkirchen).
The annual exhibition can be seen from August 16 to 28 in the Frauenkircherl on Schrannenplatz, daily from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
