The Hadash Council held elections today (Saturday) for its representatives to the Knesset, who will run as part of the joint list. The first three places on its list remained unchanged. The current head of the list, Ayman Odeh, was elected to first place by a large majority, with 75% of the votes. He was faced by Wiam Shabita, who received 21 % of the votes. 4% of the voters abstained.

The battle for second place was closer. MK Aida Toma-Saliman faced Shadi Shuiri and Nasreen Morkos-Blan.

Toma-Soliman, the chairperson of the Committee for the Advancement of Women's Status and Gender Equality in the Knesset, was unable to reach 51% of the votes in the first round, so a second round was held, in which she won with 53%.
