The Wounded Al-Watan project published today a video that includes an explanation and clarification of how injuries were calculated for the wounded in accordance with the Multiple Injury Law No. 26 of 2020, compared to how injuries were calculated before the issuance of the law.
Bassem Diop explained in a video that the project published on its Facebook page that before the issuance of the law of multiple injuries, the injury was calculated for the wounded according to the highest percentage of disability for one injury, no matter what injuries he had. However, after the issuance of Law No. 26 of 2020, all the injuries he sustained were taken. the wounded into consideration.
Diop pointed out that the law came to achieve evaluative justice among the wounded, taking into account all injuries and not limited to one injury. The injured, according to the law, if he has several injuries, will receive better rights and material and moral compensation than what he was receiving according to the previous method.
And Diop indicated that if he was injured with an injury rate of 40 percent, his recovery rate would be 60 percent, and if he had a second injury, his disability rate would be 20 percent, and it would be calculated according to the new method, so that he would be given an additional 12 percent and combined with the 40 percent to make the new percentage for him 52 percent. Which will allow him to get more compensation and rights.
It is noteworthy that the Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Armed Forces, Lieutenant-General Bashar al-Assad, issued the Multiple Injury Law No. 26 of 2020, and it carries a wide aspect of evaluative justice among the wounded and raises the level of care and financial support provided to them because it relies on a sophisticated method that takes into account all the injuries suffered by the military.
