Paris: the burglar of the wine bar commits suicide under the eyes of the police

A 35-year-old burglar committed suicide during the night from Thursday to Friday in Paris (VIe) after being surprised by the police.

It is 4 a.m. in the rue du Cherche-Midi when officials are called for a break-in to a wine bar.

Arriving in the street, they spot a suspect.

"He was a man, in his thirties and his dress corresponded to that reported by a witness", explains a source close to the case.

The police then park their car a little further down the street and approach the criminal on foot.

"One of the officials noticed that this individual had many tools hanging from his belt as well as a machete and a pistol."

The police pull out their guns

The members of the two crews present then take out their weapons while the alleged thief points them with his pistol which he sweeps from right to left in their direction.

The police try to reason with him but he starts screaming.

"I'm a traveler, I want to die," he blurts out before opening fire for the first time towards his own head.

Unfavorably known to the police, the desperate man fails but, determined, he shoots himself again and dies instantly.

During the summer, businesses in the Ile-de-France are particularly targeted by burglars who force the iron curtains before searching the premises.

On Thursday, a 20-year-old Romanian was sentenced by the Paris Criminal Court to a six-month prison term with a warrant for having robbed a bar and restaurant in the 13th arrondissement on August 10 and July 16. .

Betrayed by his fingerprints and the video, he confessed the latest facts arguing that he needed money to help his mother.

He had an entry on his criminal record and was known to police by six different aliases.
