The police then took over the investigation and arrested a 35-year-old surnamed Ye Nan and his 24-year-old wife, surnamed Lin, on suspicion of "murder."


A police investigation found that the baby boy's biological mother handed over the baby to the care of the arrested couple at the end of last month due to financial problems.

The biological mother and the daughter were arrested as friends, and the two had known each other for several years.
