The Egyptian parliament approves a cabinet reshuffle that includes 13 portfolios

The Egyptian House of Representatives approved all the nominations contained in President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s letter regarding the ministerial reshuffle.

According to Egyptian media, the approval of the amendment came during the emergency session of the House of Representatives, which was held today. The amendments included 13 ministerial portfolios, including the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, the Ministry of Military Production, Water Resources and Irrigation, the Ministry of Health and Population, in addition to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The constitution stipulates that the President of the Republic may exempt the government from performing its work, provided the approval of the majority of the members of the House of Representatives, while he has the right to make a cabinet reshuffle after consultation with the Prime Minister and the approval of the House of Representatives by an absolute majority of those present and at least one third of the members of the House.
