The Syrian Arab Army team won second place in the tank biathlon race as part of the activities of the eighth annual International Military Games for 2022, whose competitions were launched at the Patriot National Military Complex of the Russian Ministry of Defense in the town of Alabino, on the outskirts of the capital, today.
Along with the Syrian Arab Army team, 275 military teams from 37 countries are participating in this year's activities, competing in 36 competitions.
According to the draw that took place on August 8, the Syrian Arab Army team will participate in the tank biathlon race within the second group, which includes alongside it the teams of Abkhazia, Armenia, Zimbabwe, Iran, Laos, Mali, Myanmar, Sudan, Tajikistan and South Ossetia, while the first group includes Russia, China, Belarus, Venezuela, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan. And Mongolia, each team competes in three stages, and the winning teams are determined on the basis of the points they score in total.
During today's competitions, the Syrian Arab Army team won the second place in the tank biathlon, along with three other participating teams from Armenia, Laos and Myanmar. Myanmar team ranked first, Laos team ranked third, and Armenia team ranked fourth.
The official opening of the Games is scheduled for next Monday in El Abino, and the competitions will continue until the 27th of this month. The Games will be held in the territories of 20 countries, including for the first time this year in the Western Hemisphere, where Venezuela hosts the Frontier Sniper competition.
The International Military Games, which are contested on land, at sea and in the air, are competitions for professional soldiers of the best armies in the world, and their first session was held in the Russian Federation in 2015 with the participation of military teams from 17 countries.
These games are called the Military Olympic Games, as they constitute prominent sporting events, while the tank biathlon race, in which the Syrian Arab Army team always participates, is one of the most prominent and exciting competitions. The competitions have several stages, from the individual race in which all teams participate, then the semi-final round with the participation of 12 teams, and the final relay round consisting of four teams.
In parallel with the International Military Games, the International Military-Technical Forum (Jeremiah 2022) will be held at the Patriot Center in Abino, from the 15th to the 21st of August, where arms manufacturers display their latest models of military weapons, including aircraft, drones, missiles, artillery, light weapons and machine guns. .
