Chemical manufacturers in the Damascus Chamber of Industry and its countryside discussed ways to find appropriate solutions to the problems of the work of their facilities, their continuity of work, and the development of their production and marketing capabilities in cooperation with the concerned authorities.

The heads of the chemical sub-committees called during their meeting today, headed by the Chamber’s Chairman, Samer Al-Debs, to give a deadline for the industrialists to the beginning of 2023 to implement the electronic linkage system for bills so that the industrialists can fully prepare for implementation and create the capabilities and prepare the programs required to implement this project, with an emphasis on the existence of clear tax justice and that the rates Profits are real, logical and commensurate with all professions.

The heads of the committees stressed the need to find simplified mechanisms to finance import licenses for industrialists and to work on exempting the raw materials needed for industry, which were drawn by customs 5% and 10% from customs duties, similar to the materials drawn by customs 1 pending the issuance of the law to amend customs distortions to increase the competitiveness of the national product in foreign markets.

The industrialists pointed out the importance of working to raise the enclosure on the imports of ready-made mineral oils prepared for retail sale to protect the national product and to allow the import of a number of important and necessary raw materials such as deactivated vegetable oil that is used in the manufacture of paints, in addition to transparent glass and mirrors due to the inability to produce them locally, allowing the export of leather and providing facilities To grant export approvals, the attendees also discussed the issue of interest in vocational education in order to develop human resources and raise labor skills.

Al-Dibs explained that the Damascus Chamber of Industry and its countryside adopts and supports the demands of industrialists in the chemical sector and will work with the relevant authorities to find appropriate solutions within the capabilities to enable industrial facilities to continue the production process and reduce the burdens on industrialists.

The meeting was attended by the chamber's secretary, head of the chemical sector, Muhammad Akram al-Hallaq, chamber treasury Muhammad Ayman Mawlawi, member of the chamber's office, Hossam Abdeen, member of the chamber's board of directors, Hossam al-Tair, and secretary of the chemical sector Mahmoud al-Mufti.
