1020 euros cold for 66 square meters: "The sheer madness..." - Jodel users shocked

Regensburg - apartments are expensive, that's not only the case in Munich.

The student city of Regensburg is not immune to high prices either.

"You can do 1020 euros cold (incl. parking space) for 66 square meters of living space... I think they've completely screwed up Chöpfli by now," complained a user on the Jodel platform at the beginning of August.

There was a lot of approval for the anger post.

“Wtf is wrong with the people?

Also looking for an apartment at the moment.

Statement by the landlady for the last overpriced apartment: 'The price is not based on the rent index, but on supply and demand and that's how it works.'” Another Jodel user found a clear answer to this: “Yes, it works, but that you have to take every penny out of people’s pockets is a bit inhuman, isn’t it?”

"They're all just completely insane.

All the crackpots push each other's prices up and think that the prices are even remotely justified,” another person expresses incomprehension.

Even a landlord spoke up: "I have a 2-room apartment a few minutes outside of Regensburg that is currently rented, unfortunately the tenant has now given notice and that's why I looked what the others there are asking for.

Sheer madness..." is his conclusion.

“The problem is that there is no market because there is not enough supply.

Hence the prices go up.

But we're not talking about any luxury item, we're talking about a vital roof over your head," says another Jodel user of the rental debate.

One person even expresses understanding for the landlord: “As stupid as it sounds, what would the landlord gain from renting the apartment below the current market value?
