Louay Kayali Gallery in the Arab Gallery in Damascus was decorated with paintings of 20 distinguished talents of children who are passionate about drawing this evening within the exhibition (Childhood and Color 2).
The exhibition included more than 50 paintings of various colors and themes that expressed the dreams and visions of the participating children on many details of daily life while mixing reality with imagination.
Concerning the exhibition, the plastic artist, Ruba Karkout, who supervises the exhibition, said in a statement to SANA reporter: “These drawings reflect the true feelings of the child towards the surrounding environment, and every painting in the exhibition expresses the dreams and aspirations of the child who painted them towards the future.”
She indicated that drawing helps to unload children's energy positively and expresses their creative aspects with the ability of colors to rid them of feelings of fear and hostility and develop their artistic and aesthetic sense.
The ten-year-old girl, Tala Al-Aysami, participated in 13 paintings with various themes and explained that she loves drawing because she expresses many things through it that she cannot talk about. The child, Naya Mahmoud, 9, said: “Painting for her is a beautiful and attractive world, far from our painful reality, and that she participated in 19 different themes and colors palette.
As for the 8-year-old Wissam Karkout, he participated in 9 paintings, in which he drew mass transportation, portraiture and silent nature. He pointed out that he found drawing as his favorite hobby because he sees in it beauty, love and giving.
The paintings of the 12-year-old girl, Hala Nakhla, varied between nature, silent nature, portraits and roses, and indicated that drawing helps the talented to prove and attend his distinguished personality, and this is what makes her love this art, stressing that she will be a painter when she grows up.
12-year-old Taym El-Aysami participated in 14 paintings, some of them in an abstract style, and expressed his passion for the world of painting, describing this world as full of imagination and beautiful dreams that rebel against reality.
