24 forestry arrests due to encroachment on forest sites in Daraa

Since the beginning of this year until today, the elements of the forestry officers of the Forestry Department in the Directorate of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform in Daraa have organized 24 forestry seizures due to encroachment on forest sites.

Head of the Forestry Department, Eng. Jamil Al-Abdullah, stated in a statement to SANA reporter today that the seizures were divided into 4 violations related to grazing, and the rest were cut and distorted forest trees, stressing that the members of the Forestry Police are continuing their inspection tours to organize the seizures against violators in forest sites.

He added that the forest sites in Daraa are distributed among the Al-Assad Forest, Tal Al-Jabiya, Tal Al-Hara, Al-Qa'in, Al-Muzayrib and Ain Khenizira, calling on everyone to preserve the forest sites and help the police officers in suppressing violations.

In the same period last year, the department organized 16 seizures, distributed over violations related to grazing, cutting and mutilation.
