Is the current drought already an emergency that the fire brigade has to respond to?
At least it was now possible to observe on the Tölz Isar promenade how trees were watered from a tank fire engine.
Bad Tölz - However, this use of the fire engine is not that unusual, explains the Tölz fire brigade commander Commander Thomas Fuchsgruber at the request of our newspaper.
In times of greater drought, it often happens that the municipal depot borrows the tank fire engine to water the trees.
"Because that's the best way to transport water." In the case of the fire engine, it's 5,000 liters.
The fire brigade does not pour
The watering does not take over the fire department, but employees of the depot do it.
"Most of the time, one employee who is also with the fire brigade is at the wheel and is accompanied by a second one."
