Paris: three firefighters attacked in intervention, their vehicle degraded

They came to help and found themselves victims.

Three firefighters from the Paris Fire Brigade (BSPP) were attacked on Saturday evening, just before 10:30 p.m., while they were working in a home for young foreign residents located on Boulevard Poniatowski (12th arrondissement), between the Bois de Vincennes and the Parc de Bercy, reports Le Figaro.

The firefighters had been asked to assist one of the residents of this home.

He suffered very minor injuries.

While they were helping him, the BSPP soldiers were taken to task and then attacked by other residents of the home.

They would then have been attacked by several individuals equipped with fire extinguishers, scissors or but also… forks.

Suspects who fled before the arrival of the police.

Their intervention vehicle was also damaged.

The firefighters were reportedly slightly injured.

“But after having lodged a complaint, as required by procedure, they resumed their service”, wants to be reassuring, a spokesperson for the BSPP, contacted by Le Parisien.

Rescuers were not the only victims of this evening at home.

An employee, educator of the Aurore association which manages the site, also filed a complaint after being threatened with a knife.

The association intends, according to its website, "to welcome and support people in precarious or excluded situations towards autonomy through accommodation, care and integration".
