Wolfratshausen - The city has invested heavily to make young Wolfratshausen happy: the redesign of the playground at the multi-purpose hall in the district of Farchet cost around 65,000 euros.

As reported, the measures were initiated by a mothers' initiative led by Carolin Mayer and Daniela Ruben.

The work, which was recently completed, has been underway since 2018.

"The new play equipment has been installed, the play area is surrounded by a new wooden fence, and the children are already climbing, sliding and swinging on the site again," reports the city administration in a press release.

The joy is great: among the girls and boys in the municipal day care centers, the head of the town hall and the sponsors Franziska and Daniel Diessl, operators of the fairytale forest in Farchet.

The center of the playground is a wooden pirate ship with masts, a slide and climbing nets: “Little pirates can set sail here.” However, the children need imagination for this, because a water station suggested by Mayer and Ruben was rejected by the majority of the city council’s building committee two years ago away.

According to the district office, the station should have been fed with drinking water - not least that would have been a costly waste of a valuable resource, according to the majority of the councillors.

Fritz Schneller (SPD) even feared for the health of the little pirates: children who play with water "get wet".

The possible consequence: a cold.

In the district of Farchet: playground with a special eye-catcher

The game fish is definitely an eye-catcher in the eyes of the mayor.

The girls and boys from the municipal day care center "Giraffe House" in Waldram have christened the device "Nemo".

In addition, a small play ship, a spring animal seesaw, a children's excavator and a double swing on the playground provide variety.

"It is important to me that children can let off steam and meet up around the corner," says Mayor Klaus Heilinglechner.

He emphasizes that the municipality will also invest in the other playgrounds in the city area in the next few years.

The playground on Korbinianstraße in Waldram is right at the top of the agenda.

According to the head of the town hall, it will be completely renovated – the topic is “agriculture”.
