Karlsfeld – With a bit of luck, “Kap Ma Dorën” could become a late summer hit.

The singer Emine Muslija from Karlsfeld, who calls herself Ems Shay, recently published the mid-tempo track on the YouTube internet platform.

"Kap Ma Dorën" is Albanian and means "take my hand".

Modern pop flows together with elements from traditional Albanian folk music.

An exciting mix.

Ems Shay has been living in Karlsfeld since 2011.

She works for a small software company as an account manager.

She found music when she was 14

She was born in Munich.

At the age of 14, the now 35-year-old mother of a daughter found music.

“I taught myself to play the piano, and later took lessons as well.” The ideas for her songs, however, often come without an instrument;

"While walking around, for example, I suddenly have a song melody in my head." It is then quickly recorded on the cell phone.

With the help of beats – ready-made sound sequences – that are freely available on the internet, the first skeleton of the number is created.

Producer Samir Hajra and the sound engineer Albasound then turn it into a professional work.

The lyrics are also by Ems Shay.

Only for the song “Diva” did the Karlsfeld native enlist the help of a lyricist from Albania.

Also known as a committed social critic

But Ems Shay is much more than just a musician.

She has been known in Albania for years as a committed social critic. She primarily deals with classic patriarchal structures and customs.

And as an author she has already written poems and short stories, a finished novel entitled "The Million Dollar Smile" is in the drawer.

"A classic Hollywood love story," says Ems Shay, "the book just has to be edited and published." The big dream of the 35-year-old from Karlsfeld: "To be successful as a singer and author."

Ems Shay has already had well-known support in music.

She recorded the song "Mi Amor" together with the musician MC Xhedo Still, who is well known on YouTube, and she sang "Like a Star" with the successful Ingolstadt comedian and musician Chris Boettcher.

The distinctive voice of the woman from Karlsfeld could also be heard in the background of the TV series "Schloss Einstein".
