Bad Tölz – Musician Florian Rein was awarded the Tölzer Löwen at the Oach Festival last Saturday before his performance with the Bananafishbones.

It is the highest cultural award of the city of Bad Tölz.

It has only been awarded six times to date, for example to Ottfried "Bulle von Tölz" Fischer, the Tölzer Daycare Association and the Kappelmeier couple for their patronage.

Lower Bavarian cabaret artist Martin Frank amused around 700 spectators

Last weekend there was a celebration at the Eichmühle outdoor pool in Tölz: the third "Oach Festival" organized by the Bad Tölz public utility company was a success.

On Friday evening, the Lower Bavarian cabaret artist Martin Frank entertained around 700 viewers with his subtle program "One for all - all for none".

When the encore was demanded, even Peter cried – it was raining.

On the other hand, the Bananafishbones were lucky with the weather on Saturday.

And so around 1,000 fans were able to rock “Oach” with the musicians from the Tölzer Land and sing along to well-known songs like “Come to Sin” and “Easy Day”.

Before the Fishbones conquered the stage, the seven men from the region of "Brass da la Vista" heated up the audience and Bananafishbones drummer Florian Rein was surprised during the break before his performance when he was suddenly called onto the stage by Mayor Ingo Mehner and was honored there.

In the past few months, the head of the town hall has noticed how attempts are being made elsewhere to "carry culture into cities and regions," he said at the beginning of his laudatory speech.

But the difference to Bad Tölz is: "We don't have to think about where we get the musicians from.

They're already here," emphasized Mehner, looking at the banana fishbones.

“All artists who are on stage today could easily come to the concert by bike.

They live so close.”

Also prizewinner Rein, who lives not far from the Eichmühle outdoor pool.

Mehner praised the musician, who has been with the Bananafishbones since they were founded and who founded "The Heimatdamisch" as a band leader.

He is also active as a music producer and brings artists from all over Germany to the district town.

"As a concert promoter, you have brought life to our city countless times."

Mehner praises Rein's work away from the limelight: the musical work with children

Mehner also highlighted Rein's volunteer work, away from the stage and the limelight.

"You also work a lot without making a big fuss about it." Fame would not be the focus here, but the musical work with children and young people, "which you do fantastically well".

Therefore, the city council decided to award Rein with the Tölzer Löwen as an anchor nomination for his cultural merits.
