Preliminary examination by the forensic doctor found that the baby boy had 4 bruises on the right forehead and near the corner of the eyes, about 1 cm; burns on the left forearm, left calf, right thigh and right instep were also found, with a range of about 1 to 8 cm, all of which were new scars .
The forensic doctor believed that the wounds were suspicious, but the cause of death could not be confirmed, and further autopsy was still required.
The police then took over the investigation and arrested a 35-year-old surnamed Ye Nan and his 24-year-old wife, surnamed Lin, on suspicion of "murder."
A police investigation found that the baby boy's biological mother handed over the baby to the care of the arrested couple at the end of last month due to financial problems.
The biological mother and the daughter were arrested as friends, and the two had known each other for several years.
The arrested couple also has a 9-month-old baby boy, but no mishandling or injuries were reported.
