Today, the final qualifiers for the School Programming Championship were launched at the National Center for Distinguished Students at Tishreen University, within the strategy of the Syrian Scientific Olympiad administration in the Excellence and Creativity Authority, to discover the talents of excellence in informatics at an early age among school students from different school stages and to supply them to the Scientific Olympiad and its national teams and to represent Syria globally.
Dr. Abi Sandoq, head of the Scientific Committee of the Informatics Olympiad, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the current competition is dedicated to algorithms and competitive programming and is available to all school students.
Sandooq indicated that the competition took place in three stages, and today is the final, which will continue until tomorrow, with the participation of 46 contestants from different governorates, ages from fifth to eleventh grade.
The competition is held according to a box in two stages over a period of two days, and each stage in which the participants are tested with algorithmic problems, and they are required to write a program and send it to the server and automatically get their scores directly.
The participating students, Badi' Ibrahim, Muhammad Akram Al-Rifai and Ibrahim Al-Akash, believed that the level of the questions was high and far from the traditional pattern and required intelligence and special analytical abilities, while Aram Janad and Sima Fund expressed their hope to reach the final stage and win membership in the national team.
