The attack took place in two arenas, adjacent to each other.

The first is on Maale HaShalom Street, where the bus was traveling.

During the trip, the driver stopped to help a passenger in a wheelchair get on the bus.

At that moment, the terrorist emerged and took advantage of the open doors to shoot at the bus passengers.

The scene of the second attack was on Ma'ale Street, near the entrance to the parking lot of the Tomb of King David, where the terrorist fired at a private vehicle.

"There was a lot of chaos, we remember a lot of panic and screaming," said Roy and Naftali, who were traveling on the bus at the time of the attack.

"We both got on at the Western Wall station and sat down in the back seat. Suddenly the bus stopped abruptly. We noticed that the driver opened the doors and helped a passenger in a wheelchair get on. At that point the terrorist arrived and started shooting at the bus."

A pregnant woman is also seriously injured.

The two continued and said that they heard the shots, and quickly got off the bus and fled the scene.

"We remember a lot of screaming, injured and bleeding people. It was terribly scary. At first we didn't understand exactly what happened, we just ran away, and saw lots of policemen running around us."

Shalio, a shuttle driver, said that he dropped off passengers at King David's Tomb and was waiting in the parking lot when the attack took place.

"Suddenly I hear an explosion behind me. I look in the mirror and see a commotion inside the bus. I thought it was a flat tire, but when I turned my head I saw a guy with a gun shooting at the bus," Shalio said, "I immediately called the police but they didn't answer me. I called the MDA and all who can

Only after 10 minutes did the police get back to me and ask if I had called them."

Daniel, another eyewitness, said that he arrived with his children to visit the Western Wall at that time.

"We were on our way to the parking lot, and when we got closer we heard gunshots. There was a crazy commotion, one white car fled and the terrorist got out of it and jumped over the fence. We quickly fled the scene. We are fine, except for the girl who panicked. All in all, we came for an innocent visit to the Western Wall."

They focused on the Silvan neighborhood next to the Wall.

"The whole village is up in the air," a local resident said earlier, describing that hundreds of police officers are now combing the area.

During the night, the Commissioner of Police, Ya'akov Shabtai, also arrived at the security forces point in Kotor and received an overview from Jerusalem District Commander Doron Turgeman

"From there we continued to the entrance to the David's Tomb parking lot and saw 4 men, one of them about 50 years old and three about 30 years old lying fully conscious and suffering from gunshot wounds to their upper body," said the staff members.

"A short time later, the MDA ATV brought us another wounded woman, a conscious 30-year-old woman, with gunshot wounds. We gave the wounded life-saving medical treatment and evacuated them urgently to the hospitals, with 2 in serious condition, 5 in mild to moderate condition."

Prime Minister Yair Lapid responded to the attack before the arrest of the terrorist, saying that "the security forces, the Shin Bet, the IDF, and the police are working to get the despicable terrorist and will not stop until he is caught. Let all those who seek our harm know that they will pay a price for any harm to civilians. Jerusalem is the capital city Ours and a tourist center for all religions, police forces and the IDF are working to restore peace and a sense of security in the city.

I send my wishes for a speedy recovery to those injured in the attack and strengthen their worried families."

Defense Minister Benny Gantz said that "the security forces are working in the field and will lay hands on the terrorist and his aides.

Praying together with all the citizens of Israel for the healing of the wounded." Meanwhile, the IDF raised its alert level throughout the West Bank and surrounding Jerusalem this morning due to the fear of copycat attacks.

Security officials said this morning that at this stage the assessment is that it is a single terrorist, but the Shin Bet and the police investigation has only just begun and all the directions of the investigation are being examined.
