The Supreme Committee for Digital Transformation, during its meeting today headed by Prime Minister Hussein Arnous, conducted a follow-up of the implementation of digital transformation projects in the ministries, the stages reached by each project, and the necessary measures to overcome any obstacles to the implementation of the strategy according to the specified timetables.

The committee discussed the necessary steps in each ministry to develop the information infrastructure, train cadres working in digital transformation projects, and continuously coordinate with the Ministry of Communications and Technology to implement the specific path of each project and put it into service on time.

Engineer Arnous stressed the importance of continuous follow-up by the ministries to achieve the digital transformation strategy at the national level, which would provide a digital structure that enables the provision of integrated services to raise the efficiency of government work and simplify the procedures for services provided to citizens, pointing out the importance of following up on strengthening the Internet infrastructure as the basis for quality work in The field of digital transformation to ensure access to the network with high reliability.

The Minister of Communications and Technology, Eng. Iyad Al-Khatib, gave a presentation on the steps accomplished in the digital transformation projects, explaining that the strategy includes 11 projects, as the second phase of the cloud computing infrastructure project has been reached, and offers are being studied for the government procurement system project. Soon about commercial vehicle operations management projects, the investor platform, the automation of the industrial, health, tax and commercial registry, and training on empowering governance and motivating workers in digital transformation projects.

During the meeting, the stages reached by the e-government infrastructure project were reviewed, including the integrated electronic management of government support, the e-citizen service center, the reserve reservation, the electronic card, electronic government transactions, the passport and electronic payment, in addition to reviewing the projects of the Syrian Network Services Authority, the Syrian Electronic Payments and the Syrian Communications Authority.

The committee agreed to form a working group in each ministry whose mission is to follow up on the implementation of the digital transformation project in the ministry. Emphasis was placed on commitment to the executive path specified for each project and the qualification of cadres working in the field of digital transformation in the Syrian-Indian Center of Excellence and benefiting from the expertise and competencies in the Center for Research and Scientific Studies, in addition to accelerating Automates the real estate newspaper to preserve the rights of citizens.

The committee assigned the Ministry of Communications and Technology to follow up on work with the ministries that have projects included in the digital transformation strategy for 2022 with the aim of implementing the projects within the specified time plan, submitting periodic reports to the Digital Transformation Committee on the achievement and implementation obstacles, if any, and suggesting solutions to ensure the correct implementation and coordination with the Ministry of Finance and the Planning and Cooperation Authority To determine the digital transformation projects to be added in the 2023 plan, and their financial value and economic feasibility.

The committee stressed the need to pay attention to training and motivating human cadres working in the field of digital transformation in all ministries and to provide all the necessary facilities for their work, and the need to set performance indicators to measure the implementation of the projects contained in the ministries' plans.

The committee assigned the Ministry of Communications and Technology to develop an action plan with the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers and the ministries to start working on the government correspondence system, provide the necessary training for its workers and build electronic bureaus in the ministries, in addition to continuing to work with the ministries to develop a reliable and approved sectoral digital transformation plan for each ministry, provided that the plans are completed before the end of this year.
