The traditional beer brand Münchner Kindl-Bräu has found a new home in Giesing.

The search turned out to be extremely difficult.

Munich – final sprint at the new Munich Kindl-Bräu!

The foundation stone was laid on the site on Tegernseer Landstrasse in Munich on Friday.

The first beer is to be served in spring 2024.

Münchner Kindl-Bräu finds a new home in Giesing

The Münchner Kindl brand is unforgettable in the Munich brewery scene.

In any case, landlord legend Wiggerl Hagn has an original beer mug with him as a gift, and Prince Luitpold of Bavaria promises one of the old original barrels.

And the Traunstein restaurateur Dietrich Sailer is responsible for the filling.

Together with his sons Louis and Leo, he is now bringing the traditional beer brand back to the city.

Münchner Kindl-Bräu: Difficult search for a location - new building on the former site of the McGraw gas station

The search for a suitable piece of land was difficult at first.

"I often took turns with the Giesinger Bräu and Risart," says Sailer.

Finally, they found the site of the former McGraw gas station on Tegernseer Landstraße.

4000 square meters, completely sealed, but officially declared a biotope.

This is what the Munich Kindl brewery should look like.

A number of reports, feasibility studies and administrative files later, a quarter of it is now being transformed into green.

A building in the traditional brick design with large windows is currently being built on the rest.

Among other things, a brewhouse made of copper, an inn with a beer garden and a drinks market are to be accommodated therein.

Man-high wooden barrels and storage tanks in the basement are planned.

There, the cold is used to let the beer mature in peace.

There will also be a museum, a classroom for "beer lessons" and a hop garden and stables.
