A truck driver with a medical emergency was on the hard shoulder of the A40 near Essen on Thursday.

He asked for help.

But almost all drivers ignored him.

Essen – Shocking incident in North Rhine-Westphalia: On Thursday afternoon (August 11) a truck driver was in dire need on the A40 near Essen.

The man was lying on the hard shoulder next to his truck and tried to ask other road users for help with a sign that reads "112".

But almost everyone ignored him.

The man was only helped by police officers who happened to drive past, reports 24RHEIN.

The Düsseldorf motorway police reported on the incident on Friday morning and was shocked.

The man, a truck driver from Romania, repeatedly pointed to his chest and held a sign that read “112”.

A clear indication that other road users should dial the emergency number.

But the truck driver was not helped.

It was only when a police patrol from Mülheim happened to be passing by that rescue came.

The officials called an ambulance and an ambulance and took over the first aid.

Only then did another driver stop and also help with the assistance.

According to the police, the truck driver was in a critical condition and could no longer be spoken to.

An ambulance then took him to the hospital.

The police then determined whether the passers-by at least alerted the emergency call.

The result: Only one driver dialed 112.

“Anyone can find themselves in an emergency at some point.

First aid or at least dialing the emergency call should be a matter of course for everyone," emphasizes the Düsseldorf police.

The current condition of the truck driver is not yet known.

A woman in Cologne recently had better luck.

She suddenly fell over in the heat of a KVB train.

Afterwards she reported that at least five helpers took care of her immediately.
