Lack of water in the river (Nuremberg): danger for flora and fauna

As a result of the heat and drought, many bodies of water in Bavaria currently have little water anyway.

The situation in Nuremberg is also tense.

"In some parts of the city of Nuremberg, the Gründlach no longer carries any water at all," said a press release from the city, for example.

"Under the current conditions, it can damage the water bodies as well as the flora and fauna if water is taken from rivers, streams and lakes, but also from wells and springs, for example for garden irrigation," the city of Nuremberg continued.

Withdrawals from the waters by means of pumps are not subject to public use and are generally prohibited unless permission has been granted for this.

There is a penalty.
