An unidentified man apparently set his car on fire early Sunday morning and drove through the barricades on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. before getting out of the car, firing his weapon several times in all directions and then shooting himself.
There were no other casualties in the incident that lasted a few seconds.
The police didn't even have time to shoot, when the man turned the gun on himself and fired.
The FBI is investigating in recent days an "unprecedented" number of threats against agency personnel following the search of former President Donald Trump's home in Florida last Monday.
The agency, along with the Department of Homeland Security, issued an intelligence bulletin warning of "violent threats" against federal law enforcement personnel, the court and the government, as well as government buildings.
