Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova expressed her country's readiness for professional negotiations in order to facilitate the exchange of detainees with the United States, provided that this exchange is completed efficiently.
"The Russian side is ready for professional negotiations and concrete measures, but only in a professional manner and with those who are qualified to manage such operations that are not conducted through loudspeakers," TASS news agency quoted Zakharova as saying.
And she stressed that "the success of the negotiations does not depend on one person or one structure, but on a professional team," warning against the continuation of the US side in intrigues and political squabbles in this regard.
Washington has offered Moscow to exchange Russian businessman Victor Bout, who is serving a prison sentence in the United States for arms smuggling, with two Americans detained by Russia, Brittney Grenier, convicted of drug smuggling and possession, and Paul Whelan, convicted of espionage in Russia.
