The Mikado are dead, long live the Davioud benches!
The famous Second Empire benches designed by the architect Gabriel Davioud (1824-1881) are making a comeback this summer on Place de la République (Paris 10th).
On either side of the statue of Marianne, 17 double benches with a cast iron structure, with seat and backrest in planks painted green, have been installed.
