Tonight, as part of the activity of the fighters of the undercover unit of the Jerusalem Police in Kfar Akab, the forces were prepared to search the house of a person suspected of possessing weapons.
"With the fighters closing in on the target, the family members came out and started confronting the fighters when suddenly the main suspect came out holding a knife and tried to stab our fighters who responded by shooting - and neutralized him," it said.
The victim received medical treatment on the spot by the unit's paramedic, was evacuated to a military hospital and was later pronounced dead.
