A 19-year-old and his roommate are responsible for several thefts in Nuremberg.

The police caught up with both of them.

Nuremberg – Two adolescents are suspected of having stolen video games with a total value of over ten thousand euros and then partially sold them.

This is reported by the Central Franconia police in a press release on Monday, August 15th.

Nuremberg: Duo also steals video games from drugstores

As early as April, the Nuremberg-Mitte Police Inspectorate received a complaint from a drugstore in downtown Nuremberg.

Unknown persons had previously stolen a large number of video games from the store.

Value: over 2000 euros.

The investigative group of the Nuremberg-Mitte police inspection took up the investigation in the case.

Among other things, the officers evaluated the video surveillance recordings, on which the perpetrators could be seen.

A few weeks later, one of the strangers struck again at the Nuremberg branch.

"But this time he was caught by a store detective," police said.

The investigations that followed revealed not only that the 19-year-old man was also suspected of being the suspect in the theft in April.

The second man, who is still unknown, was apparently the roommate (21) of the 19-year-old.

Nuremberg police catches a duo of thieves – valued at more than 10,000 euros

"Because it was to be assumed that the suspects would turn the goods into money, the officers did research in common classifieds portals and found what they were looking for," the police further reported.

A vendor had offered for sale several video games that had also been stolen from the drugstore.

Another indication then showed the investigators that they were probably on the right track: the account name of the provider was identical to the first name of the 19-year-old suspect.

The police applied for a search warrant for the young men's home.

At the end of May, the investigators came across more than 200 products (mainly video games) that were allegedly stolen and were probably intended for resale.

According to the press release, the total value of the goods seized is over 10,000 euros.

The two suspects now have to answer on suspicion of the particularly serious case of theft and on suspicion of fraud.
