More and more sites are offering theatrical visits that allow you to discover historical places in an original way. Selection.

At the bend of a street in Paris, at the foot of a listed monument or in the alleys of a historic village, colorful characters bring stories to life during a very unique visit.

This street show, animated by actors, dusts off the guided tour by making it more lively and playful.

Through sketches or following a real investigation scenario, the theatrical visits allow an immersion in the heart of History.

On foot, the spectators will wander, guided by the characters, over several hundred meters.

Visits generally last between an hour and an hour and a half, interspersed with historical references, quirky anecdotes, music and interactions with the public.

In the Shadow of Power (Paris)

From the fate of the hearts of sovereigns during the Revolution to the greatest burglary in the history of France, the kings and queens of France were not those that we have always imagined.

Lena Saint-Jalmes

Power turns the heads of the kings and queens of France.

The Countess of the Gossips, with her big hat and her flowery dress, is stamping impatiently at the foot of the Arc de Triomphe in the Louvre.

The young woman is keen to reveal to the spectators the little stories of the big story.

With humor, she lists the crisp and preposterous anecdotes: between money, love and religion, everything goes.

But then, how to obtain this brown and shiny paint, so particular, between brown and ocher, called

"mummie"

?

Simply by pulverizing a mummy or grinding a royal embalmed heart!

During this original show, some brave people will even have to embody, for a moment, a powerful king of France or a cardinal.

To perfect the immersion, an olfactory dimension, with the smell of the parquet to smell, is added to the visits, in order to imagine oneself inside the Louvre Palace at the time of kings and queens.

Les Potins de Paris

offers four different tours of an hour and a half each, five times a week, 17 euros per person, free for children under 12.

Theatrical tour of Montmartre

Since 2009, sacred characters wander the streets of Montmartre.

Jean-Jacques de la Tour, tour guide, patiently waits for visitors in the shade of the Nadar Square, before taking them to meet little Poulbot, Father Frédé, Luigi or even the painter Modigliani!

Three actors follow one another to show the Butte of our ancestors.

Between stroll, historical point, music and dance, the show is very lively and captivating.

Perched on the heights of the small Parisian village, the public roams the alleys and cabarets that appealed to so many artists of the 19th and 20th centuries.

We discover how the vines arrived in one night, why the Sacré-Coeur is so white, where Dalida was going to eat or who the Goulu was!

The show visits allow you to discover, with ever more incredible characters, different districts of Paris: The Magic of the Marais, The Intrigue of the Covered Passages, Mysteries in the Latin Quarter and The Eternal Spirit of Montmartre.

» Visites-Spectacles

offers four different tours of an hour and a half each, several times a week, 25 euros per person, 20 for children under 14, free for children under 8.

The true story of the Baron (perched) of Oppède (Oppède le Vieux - Lubéron)

Let's follow Claire de Perussis through the twists and turns of Vaud tragedy in the Luberon, between reality and fiction, lie and truth, madness and disorder on the cobblestones of Oppède le Vieux.

Company PADAM NEZI

In Oppède le Vieux, a young lady takes spectators back to 1545. But what happened that year?

The massacre of the Waldenses.

The visit then revolves around Baron Jean Meynier who left his bloody mark on the history of the village.

The actors bring the memory of this tragedy to life with rhythm, hindsight and a touch of humour.

During the visit, short readings of archive documents accompanied by music, allow visitors to immerse themselves in the exit from the Middle Ages.

Particular point: the troop is not in a perspective of reconstitution of an era but more in a posture of "storyteller".

The costume does not make the character, the actors wear it only rarely.

» The next performances of

PADAM NEZI

will take place for Heritage Days on Saturday 10 September.

Free for all but reservations recommended.

In the good care of Emile (Baugé-en-Anjou - Maine-et-Loire)

Clotilde and Émile transform the former Baugé hospital into an adventure playground, the scene of a visit rich in emotions and twists and turns.

Pierre Holley

Clotilde, the guide, and Émile, who holds all the keys to the city, transport the spectators to the time of Molière.

At the heart of the Town Hall, they lead the public through the apothecary (listed as a historic monument), the sick ward, the chapel, the nuns' choir and the nuns' refectory.

Between laughter and emotion, the characters tell the story of illness, care, poverty, life and death.

A multitude of protagonists follow one another, in a burlesque and poetic universe, to bring the history of the place to life.

A scene from The

Imaginary Invalid

is even replayed to the delight of visitors.

Dynamic and without dead time, the visit is thus made lively and accessible.

» During the summer holidays, Clotilde and Émile from

La Compagnie Les Flambards

await the curious on Wednesdays and Thursdays for an hour and a half visit.

Other visits are planned on the Sundays of the autumn holidays.

The Transbordeur and crossing time (Rochefort - Charente)

Travel through the ages during a stroll around the Transporter Bridge and discover the history of this steel giant.

JC CARO

The city of Rochefort offers a dive into the 1900s and 1960s, during a stroll around the Transporter Bridge.

To apprehend this steel giant in a playful and offbeat way, nothing better than the explanations of Madame Simono, a typical Charentaise woman from the beginning of the 20th century, who was already on the scene for its inauguration in 1900.

Four comical and luminous characters take visitors between the two banks of the Charente.

Classified as a Historic Monument since 1976, the bridge has a gondola that allows users to cross from one bank to the other.

The visitors, accompanied by the actors then borrow this unique place for a crossing of four minutes thirty out of time.

» The city of Rochefort

offers a one and a half hour visit every Thursday at 6 pm, until September 15th.

12 euros per person, 6 euros for children from 6 to 11 years old, free for children under 6 years old.
