The Administration of the Syrian Scientific Olympiad in the Excellence and Creativity Authority honored today the first winners of the Syrian School Programming Championship, with the participation of distinguished talents in informatics from different governorates and school levels, at the National Center for Excellence in Lattakia.
The head of the Scientific Committee for the Informatics Olympiad, Dr. Abi Sandoq, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the closing ceremony of the school programming tournament witnessed honoring the first of the 46 participants in it, where the first six of the winners got the gold medal, and the next six got the silver medal, and the thirteen participants after them got the medal Bronze, while the rest received certificates of appreciation, as well as honoring the top performers from each school class in order to motivate them to participate in the upcoming competitions.
Fund indicated that the medalists were invited to participate in the final qualifiers for the Informatics Olympiad for the next year, and hopes are pinned on them to represent Syria in the international Olympiads in the future.
The participant, Ahmed Istanbouli, who won the gold medal, expressed his happiness with this victory after two days of tests, saying that the questions were of a high rate of difficulty to distinguish and determine the levels accurately. In his role as the silver medalist, he explained that the tests were to select the best to support the national teams to participate in the World Olympics.
The final qualifiers for the School Programming Championship at the National Center for Distinguished Students started yesterday at Tishreen University.
