The increase in shootings and armed violence has raised a state of panic in the American city of Seattle, the latest of which resulted in the death of one person and the wounding of seven others.
And the American Fox News network quoted police as saying: “A woman and a man were shot in the Hillman City neighborhood, which resulted in their injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment.”
The police, after receiving a report of a shooting incident in a nightclub, found a 14-year-old girl who had sustained a leg injury and was in critical condition.
Videos posted online showed people escaping in search of a hideout during last Saturday's shooting, which severely damaged a number of cars.
The police also received a report on Saturday about a shooting incident that killed a person near the basketball courts in the city, while they found another person with gunshot wounds yesterday who was taken to hospital in critical condition.
The Seattle Police Department reported at least two shootings yesterday, with two people shot in the shoulder in two separate incidents.
The violent crime rate in Seattle reached a 14-year high, and records of shots fired rose 40 percent last year from 2020 and 86 percent from 2019, according to a Seattle police crime report at the end of last year.
