The 2022 MacBook Air is only the second Apple laptop to feature the M2 processor - the 2022 13-inch MacBook Pro was the first model.
One of the most important advantages of the M2 chip is the larger working memory.
While the M1 worked with a maximum of 16 gigabytes, the M2 has up to 24 gigabytes of RAM.
In the standard version, however, the MacBook Air only has 8 gigabytes – if you want more, you have to pay a surcharge.
Nevertheless, the M2 model works significantly faster than its predecessor, especially in image processing programs.
The difference becomes even more noticeable when you upgrade to the M2 from an Intel-based MacBook.
Even with more complex programs, the new lightweight laptop works incredibly quietly without any noticeable loss of performance, since a more compact cooler is installed compared to the Pro model.

MacBook Air M2: screen improvements
In terms of size, the MacBook Air M2 is almost identical to the previous model - as can be seen in the data table.
However, Apple took inspiration from the iPhone to allow for a larger display.
This is evident in the camera notch at the top of the screen.
In addition, an ambient light sensor has been integrated into the display.
A Liquid Retina panel is used as screen technology, which produces detailed images with realistic colors.
The resolution remains almost identical to the predecessor, as does the color processing.
On the other hand, the picture on the MacBook Air M2 is a bit brighter.

Changes in design
The M2 model also has some new features on the outside.
On the one hand, there are the new color variants in which the MacBook Air is available.
In addition to the typical silver and space gray, you can also choose from midnight blue or polar star.
Furthermore, the housing is more even than the previous model.
With the latter, the laptop gets thinner towards the edge.

Conclusion on the MacBook Air M2
The MacBook Air M2 is the biggest update in the series to date.
The 2022 model is better in every aspect: it's lighter, faster, has a brighter display and also the MagSafe charging function.
But as is often the case with Apple, the price of the device is quite high.
In return, however, you get one of the best Apple notebooks for general use, but also arguably the best lightweight of all laptops.
