Iranian police seized 838 kilograms of drugs in Hormozgan Province, southern Iran.
The Iranian news agency (IRNA) quoted the commander of the internal security forces in the province, Brigadier-General Gholam Reza Jafari, as saying in a statement today that "this quantity of drugs was seized by implementing 39 plans to cleanse the affected areas in Hormozgan during the past week," noting that 24 smugglers and distributors were arrested. drugs and hand them over to the competent judicial authorities.
Jafari added: During the same period, 14 light and heavy vehicles carrying and active in the field of drug smuggling were seized, stressing that the Internal Security Forces will spare no effort in confronting the smuggling phenomenon and combating drug traffickers.
The Iranian authorities are continuing their campaigns to pursue drug smugglers and dealers in several regions of the country.
