A 41-year-old man surnamed Qiu had earlier sold a famous "Karuizawa" 1983 whisky worth about 75,000 yuan on the online trading platform Carousell.
Then someone contacted Qiu and asked him to hand over the famous wine.
After the settlement was settled, the "buyer" claimed to Qiu Chen that he had paid too much money online and demanded a refund.
Qiu was not afraid of fraud, and according to the "buyer"'s instructions, he transferred a total of 115,000 yuan to a local bank account twice.
Qiu later discovered that the first transaction was unsuccessful. He suspected that the famous wine and money had been defrauded, so he reported the case to the Jinlongtai residential unit in Tin Hau at about 0:00 in the morning today (16th).
Police officers arrived at the scene and after preliminary investigation, the case was classified as "obtaining property by deception" and handed over to the Eastern District Police District Criminal Investigation Team for follow-up. No arrests have been made so far.
Together with the loss of famous wine and "excessive", the amount involved is about 190,000 yuan.
Police are looking for the swindler, who is a man in his 20s to 30s.
