Nearly 150 firefighters were mobilized in Paris overnight from Sunday to Monday to try to put out a burning Haussmann building, reports
Le Parisien
.
According to the daily, the fire broke out around 10 p.m. in the 13th arrondissement, rue Le Brun, a few steps from the avenue des Gobelins.
The fire was brought under control around 2 a.m.
For the moment, only one victim, slightly injured, is to be deplored.
According to
Le Parisien
, this could be explained by the fact that this building is mainly occupied by offices.
Adjoining homes, including a retirement home and a Franprix store, were spared.
But, given the extent of the damage, the firefighters say they remain vigilant.
An investigation should, according to the daily, soon determine the causes of this fire.
