Russia today strongly condemned attempts to obstruct the mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency at the Zaporozhye nuclear plant.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in a comment posted on the ministry’s website: We strongly condemn the attempt to obstruct this mission, and we will do everything in close cooperation with the agency and its leadership so that its experts are present at the station and can provide an honest assessment of the sabotage actions of the Ukrainian side.
Zakharova expressed Moscow's concern about the obsessive focus of the European Union on the "Russian threat", with which they justify everything. This again puts anti-Russian foreign policy views above objectivity.
Zakharova referred to the falsehood and hypocrisy of the West when it was previously declaring adherence to the international legal framework in the nuclear field, while we see Western countries descending again to outright lies in their allegations about the Russian threat to the security of the Zaporozhye plant. This clearly contradicts the facts that we have mentioned many times, including in UN Security Council.
Zakharova stressed that it is absolutely undeniable that the attacks on the station and the city of Energodar are carried out by Ukrainian armed groups on the orders of Kyiv, stressing that these attacks continued even when the representatives of the European Union in Vienna were collecting signatures on their statement instead of cracking down on the regime. Vladimir Zelensky.
Zaporozhye station is located near the city of Energodar and is currently under the control of the Russian army. In recent days, Ukrainian forces have deliberately bombed this station and the surrounding area using drones, heavy artillery and rocket launchers, but the local authorities indicated that the station is operating normally at the moment.
