An infant death incident occurred in Tai Kok Tsui earlier. A 3-month-old baby boy was suspected of being abused to death. The couple who were entrusted to take care of the baby boy were later arrested and each charged with one count of murder.
They were sent to the West Kowloon Court for hearing early today (15th), and the prosecution applied that no reply was required for the time being. The case was adjourned to November 7th, pending further investigation by the police, including checking CCTV and waiting for the autopsy report. and checking mobile phones, etc.
Neither defendant has applied for bail and is still awaiting trial.
The two defendants, Ye Junxian (35 years old, transport worker) and Lin Jiaxi (24 years old, housewife), were charged with the murder of Zheng Yuxuan on August 13, 2022, in a room on the 2nd floor of West Block, Fortune Building, Mongkok, Kowloon, Hong Kong.
The male defendant, Ye Junxian, was thin and was wearing a gray long-sleeved top. He stood in the prisoner's column and looked at the public gallery from time to time. After reading the charges, Secretary Wen looked down at the ground and vaguely expressed his understanding.
Lin Jiaxi, the female defendant wearing a pink coat and a ponytail, kept looking forward, clearly answering the charges.
