The IDF recently thwarted a Hamas attack tunnel in the northern Gaza Strip that crossed the international border, but not the underground wall - this is what outgoing Gaza Division commander Brigadier General Nimrod Aloni revealed today (Monday).
This is a tunnel of the Gaza City Brigade, west of Kibbutz Alumim, which was attacked by the wall guard and recently Hamas began an attempt to restore it and build a new branch for it.
The IDF emphasizes that it did not pose a risk to the residents of the surrounding area.

"Recently we identified efforts to restore the route of the old tunnel, and after conducting research we located the tunnel with the two branches," said Aloni.
"The thwarting of the tunnel joins a long line of overt and covert operations which led to severe damage to the Hamas raid tunnels project and we will continue to pursue them."
