The Isuzu Challenge is back

The challenging field trip returns after a 15-year hiatus. The participants went on a crime spree in Jordan after screenings to be held in Israel


After a break of more than 15 years, Isuzu's challenging off-road trip is returning, in October the UMI Group, importer of Isuzu to Israel, will send a delegation of 30 Isuzu Dmax vehicles for a grueling off-road trip in the deserts of Jordan.

The Isuzu Challenge first came out in 1998 to Namibia and traveled for years around the world, through Laos, Vietnam, Patagonia, the Himalayas and even to Australia and China.

During the month of August, there will be free tests by driving instructors where they will test the candidates' off-road driving abilities, the vehicle's suitability, and more.

During the selections, the candidates will pass several exams in different terrain conditions to determine who are the 30 most talented who will go on the journey.

Participants will arrive with their own vehicle.

The journey will be launched during the month of October and is the first in a series of annual journeys, during the journey the participants will benefit from close training by professional guides and technical and logistical support.

During the four days of the journey that will be led by Ofer Ogesh from the 4x4 Israeli off-road site, the participants will pass through a number of spectacular sites in Jordan, climbing the path of perfumes through Ma'ale Wadi Namla, the capital of the sprouts Petra to the "Land of Rainbows" - Harja, Wadi Ram, Khaz-Ali (Hazelalah) - for observation Ancient rock inscriptions, Ein Al Kater - the ancient King's Road, the arch of Jebel Burda and in between will be sand dunes and various driving challenges.

Participating in the trip involves payment, a medical certificate and a negative corona test.
