The Minister of Interior discusses with the Lebanese Minister of Displaced Persons facilitating the return of the displaced Syrians to their homeland

The Minister of Interior, Major General Muhammad al-Rahmoun, discussed with the Minister of the Displaced in the Lebanese caretaker government Issam Sharaf al-Din and the accompanying delegation ways to enhance cooperation for the safe and easy return of the displaced Syrians to their homeland.

Major General Al-Rahmoun confirmed that Syria provided all the necessary facilities to secure the return of the displaced to their homeland, as it allowed their entry according to Syrian passports, even if they were expired, or any document proving that they are Syrian citizens, and to address their conditions at the border posts immediately without assigning them to review.

Minister Al-Rahmoun pointed out that the ministry allowed the entry of children born outside the country with their parents, according to a certified birth certificate, and instructed their relatives to review civil affairs centers to complete their registration procedures and exempt them from the fines imposed on them.

Minister Al-Rahmoun indicated that all border posts have been connected with the central database for civil affairs in order for the returnees to obtain civil status documents from the centers directly, stressing that they will continue to provide all facilities for their return to their homeland.

For his part, Minister Sharaf El-Din explained that work is underway with the Syrian government to overcome all obstacles to the return of displaced Syrians to their homeland, and there is great positivity from the Syrian state in this file, calling on international organizations to help in this regard.
