At the beginning of this month, the security forces arrested three suspects of arms smuggling, including a resident of the Palestinian Authority and two residents of East Jerusalem, all in their 30s.

In the documentation published today (Monday) of the arrests, the security forces are seen stopping the wanted people who are driving the cars, breaking the windows of the cars and dragging the suspects out.

In the first case, a suspect was arrested who smuggled nine guns, which were transferred to him through the border fence with Jordan, near Kibbutz Ashdot Ya'akov.

After the arrest of the smuggler, and as a result of an intelligence effort and a long pursuit, another arrest of a vehicle with two suspects in it was carried out near Natabh. According to the suspicion, the manager of the smuggling network and another accomplice were present in the vehicle, who noticed the arrest of their accomplice earlier and tried to escape.

According to the suspicion, the seized weapons were intended for distribution to criminal and hostile elements in the Negev and the Hebron area. The three suspects, the weapons, and the two vehicles were transferred to the police's defense unit for investigation, and a prosecutor's statement regarding them will be submitted by the attorney's office.

"The soldiers of the Negev Defense Unit, with the help of other forces, foiled 10 squads of illegal weapons smugglers since the beginning of the year, and in these foilings over 170 weapons were seized," said the commander of the Defense Unit, Sen. Ronan Kalfon. "This is an arms race of Literally, and we work night and day in a continuous struggle against this challenge, it is clear to us that any such weapon can easily be used to kill innocents."
